1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
1 teaspoon chili sauce (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon vinegar
½ teaspoon sugar (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Spring onions for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough and Filling
1. In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt. Gradually add water and knead to form a soft, non-sticky dough. Cover and set aside.
2. In another bowl, mix the chopped vegetables, garlic, green chili, salt, and pepper. This is your filling.
Step 2: Make the Momos
1. Divide the dough into small balls and roll them into thin circles (3-4 inches in diameter).
2. Place a small amount of filling in the center of each circle, fold, and seal the edges to shape the momos.
3. Steam the momos for 10-12 minutes or until cooked. Set aside.
Step 3: Fry the Momos
1. Heat oil in a deep pan or wok. Deep fry or shallow fry the steamed momos until they are golden and crispy. Remove and drain on a paper towel.
Step 4: Prepare the Manchurian Sauce
1. Heat oil in a pan. Add minced garlic, onion, and green chili; sauté until golden.
2. Add capsicum and sauté for another minute.
3. Add soy sauce, tomato ketchup, chili sauce, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
4. Add a little water to adjust consistency, and let the sauce cook for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
Step 5: Combine and Serve
1. Add the fried momos to the sauce and toss well to coat.
2. Garnish with spring onions and serve hot!
Enjoy your delicious Momo Manchurian!
